Hi johnsrep, thanks for your question and interest in Bosch products! You can use whichever detergent you prefer; however, we recommend and use FINISH™ detergent. We’ve tested this detergent in our dishwashers and found it to be very effective. Pods/tablets are not the only detergent option available: there are also liquid and powder versions.
