There isn't really a right or wrong mounting for these. They can be vertical or horizontal. Mine are mounted vertically as surround speakers. You CAN use them as front mains, but they aren't really designed for serious sound or to produce lower frequencies. They'll do fine for normal TV viewing, but I still wouldn't consider them as fronts for a fully designed system (5.1 or 7.1). If paired with a subwoofer you may be content, but I wouldn't think you'd be happy.

Mounting in horizontal or vertical configuration is acceptable.
