• Thanks for your inquiry. The 161 speakers are compatible with a receiver which outputs 10-100 Watts Per Channel, 4-8 Ohms, so they should definitely be compatible with your Kenwood receiver. Thank you!

• Yes, you most certainly can. BOSE USES 8 ohms.. So there should be a switch in the back to switch it from 4-6 to 8 ohms. The newer receivers (2009 and newer) have a built in ohm converter. You can't blow up the speakers, but it just won't sound good unless you switch the ohm switch
