The 500 and 700 products were built as a "cheaper" line of products to caterer to the up-and-coming consumer; ie, someone fresh out of college looking to fill an apartment with a small stereo system or a young family in a small home.....so to answer your question, you would need the Soundtouch 300 subwoofer for your Soundtouch 300 soundbar.
