Nope. It is a self-contained sound bar system with subwoofer. You can connect optical audio out of tv to bose and done. Don’t need receiver or extra speakers. I had 5 Speaker setup with receiver but I hook up this sound bar with sub and I didn’t miss 5 speakers system since then. It is loud enough to fill up 400-500sf room.
