The sound volume is customizable, so you could test them against any noise you want to be aware of. However, even with the volume up, I've had no trouble hearing loud sounds. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Bose noise-masking sleepbuds are designed to mask unwanted noise and disturbances while you sleep. Because of this, they can affect your ability to hear other sounds, such as alarms, warning systems, people, or pets. However, to balance the levels of noise masking and awareness you want, you can set an appropriate volume level for your needs within the Bose Sleep app. The volume should be high enough to mask noises that disturb your sleep, but not so high that you can’t confidently be awoken by the sounds you want to hear. If you are still concerned about your ability to hear sounds while wearing the sleepbuds, you may want to take alternative measures, such as relying on a partner, wearing only one of the sleepbuds or scheduling the masking sound timer. Hope this answer helps, have a terrific day! Ashley - Bose Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are in control of the sound level these produce through the app on your smartphone. I have mine set to a lower level that masks the disturbing noises yet I could her a smoke alarm or intrusion alarm, by phone ring or even my wife speaking to me if she speaks up just a bit. But if you set them at a high level your not going to hear much of anything at all, and that is not safe IMHO and rather unnerving. The lower levels are fantastic
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They do not block all sounds and you can manage the volume. I am certain I would hear my smoke alarm or my house alarm even with the buds at a comfortably high volume.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am sure they will work great with loud sounds like a fire alarm, smoke detector and probably even loud thunder if very close, since the specs say that they are passive for noise cancellation.
