The control unit has pause button and noise cancellation on/off, but no volume control...

They have pause/play but no volume control. I believe the ones for iPods do have volume control.

No they don't. the model for android phones has a phone answer button and aware mode button, the iPhone version has the same with the addition of volume up and down buttons.

Yes, depending on android or iphone version of headphone, I own the android version and it definitely pauses play for movies and music.

Yes, pause play and call answer/end on cord. Also turns off/on sound canceling so you can listen with canceling or without AND they work when charging!

Yes, but it located on the left ear. I was used to my right ear on the iPhone headphones.
