“I have excellent hearing but also have minor tinnitis. I am looking for earbuds that can cancel out very loud music at dances so I can just hear muffled or very little music. Will they be able to help?”

These headphones will cancel low pitched noises better than those that are higher pitched. That being said, the active noise canceling could probably do a pretty good job of blocking out a good amount of sound. But, $300 is a hefty price for a product that is mostly serving as earplugs.

I own the Beats Studio over the ear headphones as well as the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 over the ear headphones. The ear buds blow them both out of the water. I just flew back on an international flight for 4.5 hrs and when we landed, I found out a kid screamed the whole way in the aisle next to me. I never heard it. Ear buds are awesome.
