“When I shut the power switch to middle off position is the unit completely off or is it still charging? Also if I leave my cable connected from my tv to the Bose S1-Pro auxiliary input will it discharge my battery in anyway or do I need to always unhook?”

You actually need to flip the switch into the bottom-most position to charge.
