Is a subwoofer necessary with this soundbar? null

This is for each user to decide. We would recommend giving the Smart Soundbar 600 a try on its own first. If you feel that there could be more bass, you're welcome to add a compatible bass module to the setup.

probably yes! and as long as you insert 2.5V DC in the right channel wire (red wire, jack ring) the SB600 sees any analog subwoofer as Bose model 700 hardwired ... nice trick uh?
