We have our Bose 500 connected to a non smart tv and it works great! The 700 is a “better” sound bar but we love our 500 and think the sound is incredible. Sprang for the bass module as well and the immersive sound is exactly what we were looking for. Keeps the dialogue up as well for movies and regulates the sound in those well. The bar can work without having the tv on, through the app, so you can play your music or podcasts without having the screen on. Pretty great!
