• Lightning to whatever Apple called their older, larger connecter might work, but definitely headphone to AUX in would work, it just wouldn't charge your iPod.

• This system features a built-in 3.5mm auxiliary input lets you hook up other devices. For a classic 30 pin connection iPod you will need an auxiliary cord.

• Hi Linda. Great question. To listen to your iPod Classic on the SoundDock III, we would recommend using a 3.5mm cable to connect from the headphone output on the iPod to the 3.5mm AUX input on the back of the SoundDock. Thanks!
