• Depends on the size of the party! For small gatherings its fine, but its really good for a large dance party.

• Short answer: no Long answer: it depends on the type of party, if it's a wine & cheese party in your house, one room of your house, sure...or if you want some background music for a child's birthday, sure, maybe... Not to take away from what it does do very, very well, Bluetooth connectivity is quick, easy and perfect while you are home getting paperwork done, computer work, cleaning, working out, listening to an audiobook. This is not a DJ speaker for a party, it is a great portable speaker... After reviewing the original query, let's stick to the "short answer" above. Please disregard this paragraph.

• Your gonna want to upgrade to the most premium level if you want a Bluetooth speaker for outdoor parties. This is strictly a "beer pong in the garage" with a few friends level speaker. Great for that occasion however.

• The closer you are to the speaker, it is harder to tell when the sound continues to rise. It definitely gets loud enough for my purposes. I could hear it downstairs outside when I was helping my friend move

• This loud enough for most indoor applications, and outdoor if you're within 30 feet of it. It doesn't work all that great outside if neighbors are mowing.
