I am not trying to run it of off an existing blue tooth phone or player, but am looking for a unit that has a wireless transmitter that hooks up to an amplifier. The transmitter can use Bluetooth or any other wireless technique available.”

Yes, Best Buy sells a brand called Rocketfish that makes an excellent wireless speaker kit. Search their site for "Rocketfish wireless speaker kit" and it will show you some options. I have used the wireless rear speaker kit for my surround sound speakers for over 5 years and it has always worked perfectly so far. This wireless kit sends a wireless RF signal from the transmitter to receiver and into standard wired speakers anywhere in the room. There is never any static and it is very reliable.
