Hello joeb1956, Thanks for the question. We can certainly help you out. The batteries are included for the remote, and the presets 1-6 can be set up using the SoundTouch app which can be downloaded on your Apple or Android device. We recommend that you double check the Bluetooth adapter on the Samsung Chromebook to be sure it supports A2DP. We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your SoundTouch speakers. Please try again later.Batteries included but like most electronic products, there is a plastic disc to keep it from conducting so it doesn't drain while in storage/shipping. Numbers 1-6 programmed with the app on your phone or laptop. All laptops are compatible to my knowledge.
