“I’m considering purchasing a bose SA-5 to run an acoustimass 5 series 2 set, possibly 2 subs. Would this amplifier satisfy the demand of all the speakers? If not, what do you suggest to use for this application? I’ll be using this in a new 2400 sf shop.”

It would be fine since your Acoustimas needs just power. Sub takes care of the frequency range. The SA-5 amplifier has three aux inputs so you can connect non-streaming sources, like a CD player. It can also run two pairs of speakers in parallel, so you can wire four speakers to the amp.

The SA-5 power output rating is 100 W per channel, nominal 8 ohms per pair and the Acoustimass 5 series 2 compatibility is 10-200 W per channel, 4-8 ohms. There may be insufficient power for 2 sets of the Acoustimass 5 series 2. Please contact customer service for more information on other speakers that are compatible with the SA-5.
