“The previous home owner had a front speaker and ceiling speakers installed. The speakers work. Should buy a receiver for the speakers or will the Bose sound wave provide the sound we are looking for to watch TV & Movies?”

The Boses Wave will fill they house with sound no need for ceiling speakers and it can act as surround sound for a smart TV

In my opinion, the Wave has great sound but if the speakers that they left are of good quality you may be better off going with a receiver or even upgrading to a Bose home theater. I've had three in different houses and nothing beats the sounds of Bose.
