“I'm going to be installing these in my ceiling that also has blown in insulation in it. Is there anything I need to put in first to protect the back of the speakers from insulation or heat in the attic space? And if so, where to I buy what I need?”

Other than pushing the insulation to the side so that the speaker can fit in the cut-out space, there is nothing else that you need to do.
