The Formation Duo is an active, wireless speaker pair. They remove the need for use with a receiver/amplifier as they have their own 125 watt amplifier built-into each speaker. The Formation Duo connect to multiple wireless source options such as Apple Airplay2, Roon (subscription required for Roon), Bluetooth, or a proprietary Formation mesh network for wireless multi-room audio. They even control multiple compatible Formation speakers to play the same song simultaneously or different songs in different rooms. The Formation Duo also work really well with the Formation Bass wireless sub-woofer.
