“What purpose is the foot piece for? Not sure I need a bench with that attachment. Would a basic bench be better?”

• The foot piece is for locking in your feet when doing exercises like ab crunches. My 2 cents, no harm in having that attachment. You can always remove and keep it aside if you want.
