“Is it really not possible to use our Netflix accounts (for example) *without* JRNY subscription? So the screen is basically useless unless we pay for it? I don't want to pay a fee year after year and that would prevent me from buying. Thanks”

Yes - that is a huge drawback to this treadmill. If you don't pay the monthly fee the screen doesn't work. Also, you can only use the pre-loaded apps. So if, for example, you have a YouTube TV subscription, you can't add that app. You can only use the apps that come pre-loaded on the system.
