Customers are enthusiastic about the Treadmill 22's large screen, sturdy build quality, and effective incline and decline features. Many appreciate the powerful motor and quiet operation during workouts. However, some users have experienced issues with the software, including occasional freezing and the need for frequent reboots. The high price point was also a recurring concern for some customers.

Dented product-no viable options for the customer

Good product but it came with visible dents as shown in the pics - not sure it came out dented from the manufacturer or got dented while the Best Buy crew was installing - I hope Best Buy helps to get this right - I think that dented piece should be fairly easy to replace
Been trying to contact Best Buy but communication with customer service is challenging and certainly it is not helpful to be offered to return to the store an item if this size that weights 336 pounds….

I went back and forth for a while before finally deciding to purchase this treadmill. I believe it is the most advanced on the market currently. The 22 inch screen is great and I love that I am able to watch my tv shows and movies, or listen to whatever I like while I work out. Sound from the speakers is great. Installation with Geek Squad was a breeze (got it free with TotalTech membership). I absolutely recommend the Bowflex 22 treadmill! If you were looking for an amazing machine, you found it.

I received this item yesterday and it had dents right out of the box. Then at max incline it’s making a loud screeching noise. I can’t get the chat feature on BB site to work and the number keeps kicking me out… so I have had no way of notifying anyone for 2 days now.

Best Buy delivered the treadmill six weeks after it was purchased. Then I had to wait another eight days to have it assembled. All in all it appears to have been worth the wait. The Bowflex T22 is amazing. It worked me hard. The set-up was easy with “Max” talking me through it. There were also helpful videos. The only issue I have is setting up the entertainment part (Hulu, Netflix, etc).

Treadmill worked the day geek squad set it up and it hasn’t worked since. Treadmill display showed that the right upper handlebar was stuck the first time I tried to use it after geek squad left. Strange, since it hadn’t been used but called geek squad for a troubleshooting appointment. Two weeks later was the earliest when I could speak to an expert. They tried to walk me through clearing this error message and I got a system failure message. So I guess the treadmill is a dud! This is awful because now it is out of stock and I would like a replacement not just a refund. Very few treadmills have a high weight capacity that this treadmill offers. Customer service has been dreadful. Long wait times and no help at all. Very frustrating!

Went with this model because I wanted the JRNY app built into the console that offered the video training and streaming services. Less than three months later I’m having all sorts of issues with the console. The console startups only half the time. When it does startup only one of the three ways to adjust the speed works. I’m dealing with warranty now, they say it’s a bad connection - which is scary for a new piece of equipment to have that kind issue. The other issues is the Android operating system doesn’t want to shut down when I do finish a workout. I don’t know if the issues with the OS and console are related, but now I feel like I should have gone with a treadmill without a display and just lugged my tablet over. I hope warranty solves my issues but I’m dreading what owning this treadmill will be like once warranty runs out.

Best Treadmill I've Ever Owned Or Used!
|
|
Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've used a lot of treadmills in my life and I've owned a few too! This is by far the best treadmill I've ever owned or used. I have used it for 3 days and do not regret my decision! I love how sturdy the frame of the treadmill is and how extremely quiet it is! My previous treadmill used to make a lot of noise when I ran or walked on an incline. This one doesn't, it is very quiet! Also the belt doesn't slip or lag any. The 4.25 horsepower motor is living up to the hype so far!
I also love how many features it has and all the different workout options. It comes with unlimited user profiles so each member in my family can track their own progress on the treadmill and on the JRNY mobile app. Without a paid JRNY membership it comes with 16 workouts. It comes with a 2 month trial to the JRNY app which has over 100 workouts for you to try out.
JRNY also allows you to pair your Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and Prime Video subscription and watch videos while you workout on the 22 inch HD display. Also they have JRNY radio stations where you pick from certain music genres and playlists from certain decades like the 80's and 90's and the music stream is commercial free. The first workout I planned to workout for 30 minutes but the music selection was sooooo good I did 70 minutes.
I also love that it has a place for me to place my tablet and phone while working out. In case you don't pay for JRNY or want to use a streaming service not offered you can just sit your device on that section and watch or listen to whatever you like. The speakers provide excellent volume. You can also connect your bluetooth headphones to it if you prefer. I also get great benefit from the built in fan which has 3 speeds.
The heart rate monitor it comes with seems accurate too compared to what my watch also displays during workouts. You wear the HR monitor on your forearm and it displays your current heart rate on screen without any need to grip the heart rate sensors. I've also worked out without the HR monitor and just used the HR grip sensors.
This is the first treadmill I've had that not only comes with an incline feature but also a decline that mimics walking or running down hill. You can choose from -1 to -5 for downhill and incline goes up to 20. I am used to treadmills having an incline of 10, and my gym goes up to 15. Level 20 incline provides an even greater challenge, definitely will push even the most athletic person. Another great help is all the buttons for changing your speed and incline. There are 3 places you can make these changes, so whether you're running or even walking on incline you can always easily make the adjustments.
Putting the treadmill together isn't too bad. I've put all my other treadmills together also and this one seemed comparable. I ran into a couple of hiccups, mostly my fault for either misunderstanding the instructions or dropping a screw into/under the treadmill. This treadmill is heavy even before assembling it, so getting stuff you drop under it can be difficult.
Also there is an issue with one of the screws used in the set up, they didn't provide enough. In the instructions they call this screw "D". They give you 5 D screws, 1 screw is supposed to be a spare. The instructions call for you to use 8 D screws though, so I should've been given 9 D screws instead of only 5. I plan to contact Bowflex about this. The pages that have you use D Screws are pages 8 and 13. I was able to find a temporary work around and use some "E screws" they provided instead.
There are certain steps in the building process you will need at least 2 people such as installing the display to the treadmill and removing the walking surface from the box. It was a challenge to get the walking surface out of the box on my own because it is so heavy. I had to cut the sides off the box and drag it out of the box. Definitely recommend getting some help if you can. Even the 2 male Best Buy employees who delivered it had a bit of a challenge getting it up the 5 stairs that lead into my house and inside my home.
The box weighs 400 pounds and once assembled the treadmill weighs 376 pounds. You definitely want to build it in the location where you plan to use it. I used to roll my other treadmill away from the storage location and place it in front of my tv. Once done I'd fold it up and roll it back to location against the wall. There will be none of that with this one. It's very hard to move even with 4 wheels.
Overall I have no complaints or regrets with my decision. I fortunately was able to purchase this on sale for $2699 last week, saving $900! I am gonna reach out to Bowflex about the screw issue and about maybe adding even more streaming services. I do wish you could use the streaming services option without having to pay for JRNY! Other than these things I can't say I'd change anything.

I’ve had the unit for 4 weeks and attempt to use it daily. I assembled the tread myself, it was pretty easy to assemble (solo, no second person). There was a problem with the instructions calling for 8 “d” screws when only 4 were supplied so I had to run to Ace Hardware to buy screws. The screen is nice, I wasn’t expecting ultra high def. This screen is responsive to the touch and its size is great. Would be totally awesome if I could have raise it up higher, more eye level, but you have to look down to see the competitors screens so I was happy with this Bowflex setup.
I like the size of the deck, it is long and wide, very nice. Power is ample, incline and pace adjustments can be reached easily and at the right speed, meaning the tread is responsive during workouts. I like being able to do the same function several ways: on the screen, preset buttons on the console, the hand grips, the side rails… All very nice. The tilting-up deck is dope. The tread is heavy but actually quite easy to move around the room when the deck is tilted up.
The software is intuitive enough . . . problems are that the pay wall is very aggressive, you cannot log in to the streaming service apps without paying for JRNY, it’s almost not usable unless you pay for the JRNY membership (work that into your budget when looking at treads), most of the competitors are probably the same way, the issue here is that JRNY is a Bowflex homegrown solution. iFit has a massive following as does Peloton, I don’t think JRNY is on that level (yet). I felt that between me using the tread and my kids using the tread, we often had to log in to our accounts with username and password, rather than just selecting our profiles and getting our workouts started. That’s frustrating. The software has never gone more than two days without needing to be rebooted. This is frustrating because you can’t plan on just jumping on and working out, you’re usually waiting for a reboot or an update before you can get started.
My tread was in the corner of my room. There are power buttons and volume buttons and a few other buttons mounted on the screen, that are needed because they serve a vital purpose, but they are on the back of the screen. You can’t see what those buttons do unless you get off of the tread and walk around to the back of the screen to see. I often had to wedge my head between the screen and a wall so I could see which buttons I was pushing. Syncing my Bluetooth headphones to the tread’s software was usually annoying enough for me to just give up and use my iPhone.
There were a couple of times when I get settled for an hour long walk and I get my show going on the screen and I’m walking along and when going for my water bottle I accidentally knocked the emergency stop plug and it’s an end-all shut down, stops the tread as it should but also stopped the program I was working on and stopped the show I was watching so to get started again, you got to go through the menus and start from scratch and that takes too long. That safety plug coming unwedged should just pause the belt.
Lots of great things about the tread and few things that were annoying, but what ended the relationship with Bowflex was the day that I go for a workout . . Bowflex started the process with a software update. The screen froze four times during the update before finishing. Once the update was finished, the preset speed controls on the console no longer worked, the fan no longer worked, and +/- speed control buttons on the side rail no longer worked. I called Bowflex support, waited an hour, hung up. The next day, called Bowflex support again, waited 46 minutes a support rep answered, nice enough guy but knew NOTHING about the Bowflex T22. He discredited the idea that the firmware update broke this functionality. Suggested it’s a wiring/cabling problem. Per his advice, I took the treadmill apart and made sure that none of the wires were crimped, broken, unplugged… they were all fine, reassembled the tread and the functionality still didn’t work. That was a lot of work exuded to troubleshoot this issue. You’ll notice that Bowflex is closed when you need them the most, don’t let that anger you, they didn’t come across as very helpful anyway so being closed isn’t really a hindrance.
While I did lose some feature/functionality following a frimware update, the treadmill was still usable because there are mutiple ways to accomplish each task. I wasn't excited about having this new tread but explaining this, this, that, and this do not work anymore even though the unit is "new."
Called Best Buy and told them to come and get it. They did. I do not recommend this product. It’s still in the beta stage of development. I did a lot of research and was also considering Peloton and NordicTrack…. I’m going to try something else. If I’m going to pay $3000 or $4,000 for a tread, it better work, I have zero tolerance for shenanigans. Read the reviews on the Bowflex web site those are helpful.

Overall, I'm really happy with this treadmill. It's very comfortable to walk/run on, even on extended uses, and is very well built. I'm having the same problem that others have mentioned with the speed controls on the right handlebar. It seems to not be responding, and than all of a sudden you're really moving, which doesn't seem real safe. I'm really hoping this can be addressed somehow. I also am disappointed that the JRNY subscription is in my opinion, expensive. I'd like to see other subscription services added, such as Discovery+, and maybe even the ability to sign in using our satellite or cable provider info to watch live TV, to give us more options besides Netflix & Hulu only. I'm also agreeing with others that the videos from around the world are really blurry, and it's very noticeable on the large screen. Hopefully Bowflex (Nautilus) will address this as well. So, not to seem so negative about this treadmill, I want to say that if you're in the market for a very well-built, gym-quality treadmill, this thing checks every one of those boxes. If these other things I mentioned happen to become reality, my opinion of this treadmill will be even better

Works great. Plugged into a heavy duty extension cord into a regular outlet with no other load. I’m every bit of 250lbs. I ran for about a minute at 12mph. Either 0 or 1 incline and experienced 0 issues. No slipping of the belt, no motor overload, or shutting down. I am very impressed. I will say though, the software is a little less than expected, you can't bounce from Netflix to HBO or anything during a workout. It will stop the workout and you’ll have to start over. Another issue is sometimes my buttons won’t respond. I’ll want to go from 3-5 or 5-7 on speed and for whatever reason one of the buttons won’t work, for the whole workout. My 5 almost always works, one workout it didn’t. One workout my 7 didn’t. One time it was my 9. If I go try now they might all work. It’s odd.
Having said all of that. I’ve gone cheap on a treadmill, and regretted it. I’ve gone used on a mid tier one and it was even worse. So far ( 2 weeks) this one is well worth the money. I’m a very heavy very strong runner so if you’re lighter than me you shouldn’t have any issues.

I love the actual equipment. The treadmill is super sturdy, solid, well made, quiet and has all of the speed and incline you could possibly need. The screen is awesome when it works. I would give this five stars but it has major problems with staying connected to the internet. I’ve had it for three weeks. Literally every time I use it I get a message that it has lost connection to WiFi. Whenever it happens the treadmill stops until you dismiss the message on the screen. This is pretty dangerous when you are running along at high speed and out of nowhere the tread starts stopping. Plus the video feed of the trail you are walking gets stuck and all you see is one image for 30 minutes. Whenever the machine says WiFi is disconnected I check it and see signal strength is excellent so not sure what the issue is. I would say it’s the Bowflex system that you are connecting to and not my own WiFi. This really needs to be fixed. There is no way I am paying a monthly fee for a Jrny membership because I’ll never get thru a workout without losing the connection. If they get this connectivity problem solved it’s a first class system but until then it has a lot of issues

Your goals are only as real as the time & energy you Invest; and that includes the price you pay for the equipment! Yes, after the free trial there is a fee for the subscription; but it’s minimal compared to what most gym memberships cost. The videos are great.
As far as the machine itself, 100% I would buy it again. It’s heavy, but My 17 year old and I built it ourselves and it wasn’t that hard (just follow the instructions to the T.it has multiple users, Bluetooth connects to my phone easily and the strides are beyond smooth. My 17year old is a runner and it does great helping him build speed and endurance. I’m working on losing my 19 Covid lbs and the run /walk transitions are super smooth. I Love this Machine. The subscription is the only reason I didn’t give it a 5… it’s worth it, but still

The machine is a beast. Well made, packed really well, solid, and assembly instructions were good. Software is a work in progress. The software on the tablet is not uber intuitive but does work pretty well. I wanted a treadmill that was easy on my old joints and this machine has proven to be much more comfortable than the roads. Had to have a chat with tech support and they were very helpful. Use chat, don't call or email because you will be drawing social security before you hear back. This appears to be an honest and reliable company. I will update this if it all goes south. Only 2 hours of use so far but I am very satisfied.

So far so good with this new treadmill. I originally had the newest Nordic track treadmill .. and after a couple of months the belt just stopped working for no reason when I went to use it one day.. I ended up getting this treadmill as a replacement .. only thing I don’t like is how you have to have the JRNY app in order to even use the treadmill at all ..there should be an option to use it without the app.

A lot of the parts don’t fit exactly right. Making you feel like you’re building it wrong. One of the screws didn’t even go all the way in because of the grooves were not made correctly so the screw didn’t slide all the way in. The screen has scratches and the sides are loose. as expensive as it is, it’s crazy that you have to spend $20 a month just to use the apps that you already have an art paying monthly payments on. Even my kids tablets you just hook up to your Wi-Fi and you’re able to use your apps for free. I don’t know why this expensive treadmill doesn’t allow you to do that.
