Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Bowflex 10 and yes most of the functions that are nice (Netflix, Hulu, premade workouts) will not function without a subscription. Yes you have to hook it to wifi and create a free account (took five seconds) and I was able to use the manual features to run a standard run I did with a previous model. Sadly I would love to get old 7 series treadmills that I put 10K miles over 15 years but sadly you will not be able to find newer treadmills without the smart features anymore.

I was advised by Nordictrack to return the item, mostly because it will not work at all without Wi-Fi, this will be the last treadmill I purchase from Bowflex. They make you pay for the subscriptions you already pay monthly for. The screen is unusable without an active paid subscription and wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, the treadmill requires a JRNY subscription. If you dont pay for access to the Bowflex Treadmill 6 JRNY subscription the whole machine stops working. According to customer service the only way to enable it is going into a "store demo mode."
