What I do is setup one of my 6 buttons as the unused station. When a call comes in or I want make a call I hit that button. Vary simple.

The answer is no you can't use phone while listening to the RADIO unless you go to designated bluetooth channel. I bought the unit and was not satisfied that the microphone is on the unit far away from your voice so people couldn't hear me. I kept it for playing music only. Bracketron said I BELIEVE you can listen to music. I was asking about listening to radio. If you represent a product you should know how the product works not just believe how it works. I bought the Motorola Sonic Rider that stands on it's own without the fm radio and am pleased with how it performs.

I believe you are able to answer phone calls in the middle of playing music through your radio with the Roadtripper, because your music will be interrupted by the phone call. You don't have to choose between listening to music or using hands free features, you can always use the Siri or Google Voice Assistant features.
