QuestionIs the water filter optional and will the coffee maker still work without it? We have a reverse osmosis system under the sink and do not need additional filtering of water. Thanks!

- Answer Yes the water filter is optional. I use filtered water so there is no need to filter it again.

- Answer If you have plenty of space to work above the unit (at lease 1-ft), and you fill it from the right container (not the carafe, maybe a narrower pitcher) you can do so pretty easily without spilling water. If, on the other hand, you have limited space it can be difficult to reach the back right corner of the unit where you need to fill. Also, if you use the carafe to fill it seems to spill a small percentage sometimes due to the angle at which you are forced to hold the carafe.

QuestionI've read reviews that it only takes about 15 min to brew a full pot of coffee. Mine has been taking about 45 minutes to brew a full pot. I've cleaned it twice, brewed 2 cycles twice after that. I still have problems. Anyone have advice please?

- Answer You need to send this back to manufacturer or if you bought a Geek Squad replacement warranty, to your nearest Best Buy store because ours takes only about 10 minutes for an 8 cup pot of coffee.

- Answer I'm thinking it's an hour or less... never timed it (I will tomorrow and come back). If I notice it shut off before finishing the pot, I turn power back on. If it shuts off when I wanted another cup and not patient to reheat in the pot, I microwave the cup.

- Answer I would turn if off, wash out the pot and go through the cycle of coffee, water, on and brew just like you did before. Once it has finished the brew cycle, it is finished. Green light flashes while brewing and turns steady green once done.

QuestionWhen I unplug my Braun KF 7370 after brewing cycle, I need to reset the time each day when I brew coffee. I thought after setting the time the first time plugging in there was time memory and no need to reset the time each day when using.

- Answer I have not had a problem with the lid. Hold the lid upright (vetical) and try to slide the connecting area into the spot for it on the pot. Then lower the lid. If you try to get it to lock with the lid being horizontal it will not work. Hope this helps.
