The Smart Oven convection fan should not be noticeable unless in very silent environments, it was designed to be basically silent. A good measure would be to, from a cold start, simply open the door and using a flashlight inspect the fan which can be seen through vent shafts on the right interior side of the appliance (when cooled down completely, only verify at the start of operation prior to heat).
