    • Answer Yes, the Breville Paradice 9-Cup Food Processor has an adjustable slicing blade. There are actually 15 different thickness/depth settings on it. Change the thickness by turning the orange knob right or left.

  • QuestionCan it grind horseradish root starting with 1" pieces?

    • Answer While I will never grind horseradish because I do not eat it, and because when my dad made it when I was a little tyke, I had to wear a diving mask in the house to keep my eyes from burning, I do believe the Breville Paradice 9-Cup Food Processor will grind horseradish root with ease. This opinion is based on how easily it manages carrots and potatoes much larger than one inch. This is a truly great work-horse that cuts through food quickly and easily. One of the best things about it is how well it does what it's supposed to do without the high noise level. Ear plugs are NOT needed with this machine. It's amazingly quiet!

  • QuestionSome of the photographs show a beautiful shine in the stainless, then other photos with a really ugly flat finish. Failed photography lighting? or did they go cheap on the finish?

    • Answer I have the brushed stainless steel Breville Paradice 9-Cup, and it has a very nice shine to it. It isn't ugly at all, in my opinion. The base is heavy, but that's good because it's a very stable work horse that doesn't bounce around when in use. I love the brushed stainless steel and have had no issues with the finish. It shines and is easy to clean. The first photo shows the shine/unit with cabinet lights on; the second shows the shine/unit with cabinet lights off. I hope this helps!

  • QuestionDoes this food processor grate root vegetables like cassava?

    • Answer Hard root vegetables like cassava and sweet potato should be processed with experimentation and care. They'd definitely need to be softened and cut to smaller pieces prior to trying to process them. Depending upon the produce, you may find the processor cannot provide the desired outcome.

  • Questioncan you make a cookie dough with this?

    • Answer The Breville Paradice 9-Cup Food Processor does come with a "soft dough" blade for yeast doughs and a micro-serrated "S" blade which can purportedly be used for cookie dough. I have not tried it, though.
