• The rear surface of the microwave oven should be place against a wall, and there must be at least 8 inches(20cm) clearance from any side panels and 12 inches(30cm) above the unit.

• I don't recall any space requirements on the backside. I believe in the manual it calls for 12 or 18 inches on either side and 24 inches above the microwave.
