QuestionCan I use metal pans that I already have to cook in with this oven? Is it alright to line the bottom and sides of a metal baking pan with tin foil if to help minimize cleanup when I am baking chicken or lasagna or meatloaf or caserole and such?.

- Answer Verification from the pan manufacture of the safety and viability of the use of their pans in a Toaster Oven would need to be obtained prior to using them in the Breville® BOV900 Smart Oven® Air. Lining the pans with foil can be done but care must be taken to ensure the foil does not come close to the elements.

- Answer The Breville® BOV845 Smart Oven® Pro can be placed on a quartzite counter top. However, there are silicone mats that can be placed on the counter under appliances if concerns do still exist.

- Answer Ours does. Look for the light bulb symbol on the front panel. I know one of the Breville ovens does not have a light. Ours does and you can put ot on manually, also the oven will turn it on just when your food is almost ready.

QuestionDoes the fan speed on the 845 pro flux up and down after temperature has been established. Almost sounds like the speed goes down when the quartz heating elements click in and out but not sure if this is normal. Please help!

- Answer OK, did a test this morning in a dark kitchen (20 amp circuit) and indeed the light and fan speed go up and down as the burners kick in and out. This was on a 20 amp circuit so I need another user to try the same thing. After the oven gets to the desired temperature in bake, observe the light brightness and fan speed in a dark kitchen. You have to have good hearing but if you are in the dark the light dimming is noticeable if you can see at all. Almost like it has an undersized power supply and the 900 does not do that as far as I can tell. Will check it later.

- Answer This model does have the magnetic contacts which will pull the rack out when the door is opened. The contacts open the ranks when they are placed in the middle locations. If the rack is located in the top or bottom of the unit they are not pulled out when the door is opened. We are extremely pleased with this unit and highly recommend it.

- Answer Yes, the Breville cutting board has silicone feet on the bottom and can be placed on top of the oven. Should help if you're concerned about radiant heat affecting the cabinetry with extended use. Although, from my experience, the 5" air buffer between the two is sufficient.

QuestionDoes supermarket frozen pizza fit?

- Answer I bought a DiGiorno rising crust pizza which measured about 11 & 1/2 inches across. It leaves about 1/2-inch plus around the edge of the included pizza tray. Most professional reviews say cut time and temperature by 25%. Since the pizza pre-set is 400ºF that would be 300º, and instead of using the 12" size that would be 9". I, however, used 325º and 10" size for a crispy but not overdone edge. The only way to find the best setting for your brand is to watch the food closely the first time you cook, and adjust accordingly.

- Answer Does anyone really need to buy anything? If you like to bake during the hot summer months and you don't want to heat your kitchen up, or you need an air fryer, or you want to dehydrate that excess fruit, then this is a good buy. There are only two in our family, so I'm using this more than my large oven for anything other than my large baking projects.

- Answer It doesn't have an exclusive defrost only function. What it does have is a setting for frozen items that automatically adds time to cook a frozen food. This is not a microwave oven. It cooks like a traditional element heated convection oven.

- Answer Depending on the moisture content of the food being cooked, the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro will emit steam and high heat. Grease can be emitted with the steam. It would be advisable to use a silicone mat under the oven to help protect your wood surface.
