“Is it normal that I keep hearing the ventilation/motor noise after the timer if off? It usually stops after few seconds. And if so is it safe to open the door? It looks like a defect/unsafe as all microwaves we used would shut down Immediately.”

• Yes, its normal and its safe to open the door. It does that to vent out the smells of whatever you cooked.

• Yes, this is normal. It is safe to open the door, it’s just the fan running. The microwave is trying to cool itself down. And if you opened the door while it was running, you are correct in that a safety kicks in and turns off the microwave function.
