Just got a Smooth Wave yesterday and popped corn (NordicWare microwave popcorn popper) in the evening. The first attempt didn't go so well, but fortunately I'd recalled someone mentioning having to place their popcorn popping bowl on something to elevate it a bit. I tried that and placed a pyrex pie plate, upside down, then the popping bowl on top of it. It did the trick.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same issue. You didn't mention the brand of microwave. However, if you spent $400 you must have a Breville as I do. Apparently the sensors in the Breville are not compatible with the silicone poppers.
