For proper ventilation while in operation, it is strongly recommended that the Breville® BMO850 Smooth Wave™ Microwave have a minimum of 4 inches on all sides and 8 inches over head of clear space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it would. If you cook something for a very long time, just check to see if it is getting too hot on the top. If it is either move it for the time being or put a fan by it. I haven't used mine for more than 5 min. at one time and it never even got warm. You will most likely have the same problem with others but I personally feel that this one would stay cooler than the others. On a side note, the soft close door is pretty nice and so is the lighted screen and dials. Down side is the backlight for the clock doesn't stay on. after you're done using it, so if you like to refer to it for the time it's hard to read unless it's in use.
