“Can I put letter size paper (in the bottom) and legal size paper (in the feeder behind the front “brother” label) and will it be able to print a document that contains both letter and legal size paper. Can the printer distinguish between the two?”

The Brother DCPL2550DW does not support printing documents with mixed paper sizes as the machine is not able to automatically switch between two different paper sizes.
