Can I send a fax from motel if I have to dial 9 first null

As long as you can get to a clear dial tone, like from a home land-line, AND provided you have a coupler to mate up with the motel's phone jack (by either removing the end from the motel phone, or using a short phone line of your own, then it should work. That is, provided the motel has not "hardwired" their phone and it's phone line directly into the wall. If you can't connect thru their phone line, you might try using an online, FREE fax service. Googling for FREE FAX SERVICE should offer up several choices. Hope that helps.
