You can use Image Capture to scan, but note that if you save to a jpg file the compression is set in a way that produces pretty bad results (very small files). When I scan I save to TIFF, then do my touchup in GIMP, and finally save to jpg with a high-quality setting and the results are great. For photos 600 dpi looks really good, though the scanner can go up to 1200. Tip: I was having problems with the scanner and my mac until I read someone posting to turn off IPV6. Once I switched to to use only IPV4, it started working great. This is likely a mac problem of some kind.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have MacOS X 10.10 or later, it should work great with the Image Capture application that comes with MacOS. If you need OCR, I'm not sure. I didn't even try downloading software for this. My machines found it fine on the network and automatically selected drivers and loaded them when I clicked OK. This is working with an iMac running 10.11, a MacBook Pro running 10.13, and a MacBook Pro running 10.14. It also worked briefly with a Mac Mini running 10.9, but I'm not using that much anymore.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an old MacBook Pro, troubleshoot today, and it worked. You do not need a Mac software. Just go to support.brother.com and you'll find all the answers to your questions. I would also recommend you to go to FAQ & Troubleshoot and click on 4. Easy scan to email. That was a big help to configure my old mac with this new version of Brother. I hope this helped.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Again not sure. However a friend of mine has a Mac and I think she is able to use the scanner.
