This is a common question. You can visit the Brother website at https://www.brother-usa.com/ for software downloads. I do this all the time. Updates happen each day, so opening the box and pulling out an older CD isn't your best bet. Download it, install, it, and enjoy.

You can copy the files to a thumb drive and use that to install the files. However, as a rule I NEVER install the local software, but just let Windows find and install the drivers.

@ConsultantDave, who answered the OP from @confused26, what does it mean to install? Is it to put driver files on a particular computer? Do I have to install multiple times if I have multiple computers? And what about printing from iphone -- install to my phone??? I don't understand this. Or do installed files somehow go into the printer itself? and then I can print from all equipment on the network?
