Don’t have spec in front of me but pretty sure copy uses no more toner than print. That is, copy resolution is equal or less than print.

The pages you get from a cartridge will have to do with the amount of print on the pages (5% typed coverage) or full page dark pictures (100% coverage) However, bear in mind this is not an ink jet printer, it is laser, so it does not use ink. Also, the print capacity per laser cartridge is in the thousands. If you plan to copy that much, bear in mind this printer does not have a document feeder, you manually raise the cover over the glass. For my purposes, this is a really good multi-use black and white machine with a nice small footprint, but it sounds like you might consider one with a auto sheet feeder.
