• Yes, the Brother MFCJ1205W machine allows you to make black and white copies from the control panel.

• I believe the buttons on the top left can control those functions, but the combinations of buttons you have to press to do so, are not something easily remembered. Check your manual, or download a PDF version from the Brother Website.
