Can this printer be operated without using the app? null

Yes, this printer can be used as a stand alone copier, however, we recommend you install the full software to be able to use all the features of the MFC-J1205W. Feel free to contact Brother customer support for additional information.

I got the app and it worked great I am not sure if it operates without the app! The instructions tells you to get the app so I would say no!
