Yes, it does both. Once you put the USB in the printer, it automatically reads the drive and brings up a menu that will allow printing of documents from the drive, and allow you to select a "Scan to Media" option. It was amazingly easy both ways!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Obviously this is a "big" unit since it accommodates tabloid printing. The footprint in "normal configuration" is about 23" W x 23" D x 15" H. BUT, the manual feed tray can be flipped out a couple inches in the back and the paper trays have to be "configured" (using a pretty clever transformation) to accommodate 11x17 paper. It fits comfortably on my 28" deep desk. Hope that helps.
