- Answer The print cartridges have an expiration date on the box if you buy a new cartridge. Be sure and check for the expiration date.

- Answer I've seen the black ink for $21, and each of the colors for under $13 each on Amazon. That's a good deal given that they are super high capacity.

QuestionIs the Brother-INKvestment MFC-J985DW compatible with Mac OS X, Version 10.11.6? I saw on the Brother website that it's compatible with earlier versions, but is it compatible with this more recent version? Thanks for your help.

- Answer Yes. You tell the printer during setup which WiFi network to use. Any device (iPhone, MacBook Pro, etc., on the same network can use the printer. This is my first AirPrint ready printer and it was super easy to setup.

QuestionIn a LC61 Br. Printer, I was replacing the ink in it today and accidently opened the wrong cartridge. I had already taken the plastic twist tab off of it before I realized it was the wrong one. Is there a way I can wrap it to keep it from drying out?

- Answer I used a small piece of tape from a roll of clear box-wrapping tape to cover the opening as it adheres nicely.

- Answer This printer can be directly connected to any computer with a USB A/B Cable. Printer’s USB connector is located “below” the scanner’s glass and not at the rear where you’d expect. There is a small picture on the printer’s right side that shows how to lift up the scanner’s glass to get to the USB connector as well the wired network connector.

- Answer Hard to say. The Quick setup Guide says: "Starter Ink Cartridges [x4]" but the sticker on top of the printer says: "Super high-yield cartridge included in box"
