Yes. My printer constantly clogs and uses ink to clean over and over (and still end up with faint lines). I didn't get anywhere near the # of sheets they said and I've sometimes had to "clean" the printer 8-10 times before it would work. These are lemon machines and they're awful.

The cleaning is to ensure consistent print quality and prevent damage to the print head. These purges remove any air or debris that may have gotten into the print head manifold. Your machine will use the minimum amount of ink necessary to perform this operation. If the time setting on the machine isn't correct, the cleaning will be performed at an unexpected time. Please make sure the time is set correctly on your machine. You can't change or turn off regular cleaning cycles. The cleaning time is built into the machine's firmware and is not user adjustable. Triggering of the cleaning cycles occurs by things such as temperature and humidity. The printer maintains a certain humidity in the printhead to keep the ink in the nozzles fluid. If the temperature or humidity of the environment drops too low (or gets too high), the printer may clean more frequently to maintain the head. (For example, someone whose printer is in a garage in Phoenix Arizona during the summer may clean more often than someone who has their printer in a stable office environment). The machine will do a self-check daily- the machine will make noise, the print head will move to the flushing box and then back to the maintenance unit so the nozzles can be wiped. This process may be confused with a cleaning. There isn’t a certain amount you should print to keep the printer from cleaning. The machine will clean as needed based on need and environment factors.
