• Yes - I have recently printed for an additional month after the "low ink" indicator came up (this is a personal printer, tho, not a business one)! Now I have changed out just the yellow, and am STILL printing!! And yes, if all the colors go out, you can still print in black.

• If any of the color cartridges run out, you must replace it. You can change to black and white print outs by changing the default setting and continue printing.

• Sorry you will not be able to print black and white when one of the inks runs out. I found the the inks last pretty long...
