My only comment is it may be a software issue since mine prints most jobs reasonably fast. If you had any previous Brother software on your computer I think you best totally uninstall it, then install the latest drivers from the Brother website, rather than from the provided CD. Good luck!

This printer was installed on one computer in the house and I never used it, but when I connected my printer to it, it was painfully slow. I installed the full driver, and that helped. Also, not printing on ink-save mode speeds up the process by x2 if not more. Further, if you go into your print properties or advanced settings, there's an option under what I think says "print quality" (sorry, I'm near a computer connected to check for certain). You can change this from "normal" to "fast." Also, if you're not trying to use "ink save" mode, be aware it can be selected in two or three places: first the generic print options screen (it's probably a B&W or gray-colored options panel) that pops up when you go to print a document, as well as the properties (or advanced settings) tabs on that screen that are on the colorful Brother printer options panel.
