“Brother says the machine will not print "labels". Does that mean it cannot not print properly spaced mailing labels using Avery sheets of mailing labels?”

I have printed sheet labels without issue. Perhaps this means it won't print single labels, for which you would need a dedicated label printer.

Brother does not recommend using the to print MFCJ5855DW labels, as they are outside of the machine's stated paper specifications. Attempting to print labels with this machine will cause a paper jam and most likely damage the machine.
