No, the Brother MFC-L2710DW can not scan to a USB port.

If you mean "Can it scan to a USB thumb drive without a computer?" I didn't see a way to do that. If you mean "Can it scan to a USB port on your laptop?" Yes, that's how I configured and use mine. I often direct the scan to a USB thumb-drive plugged into my laptop's USB port.
