• If you cleaned the printer after last toner change it is likely the drum unit that needs to be replaced

• I haven't had that issue with this printer yet, but my past printer did this and after I tried carefully cleaning both the drum and the cartridge, I needed a new drum according to Brother--instead, the cost of newer technology unit was slightly higher than replacing both the drum and cartridge.
