• Brother does not offer any drivers from Chromebooks. Chromebooks operate on Chrome OS. You will need Windows OS or Mac OS for the programs.

• The unit is total stand alone. It has its own screen and patterns pre loaded, you can scan patterns directly to the unit. It has a USB port that you can use to import patterns that you create from external sources (via a thumb drive). They have a website with a design tool that you should be able to use on the chrombook or tablet and then there is also a PC application you can use to design patterns as well. So yeah you can pretty much use it without a PC.

• Canvas Workspace software can be used with a chromebook and a tablet depending on the operating system. Yes, it is a cloud base software.
