One way to do this is use their PC software (Windows/Apple) to hide the portions not currently being cut. I did this recently when I was making a two color pattern for draw mode. I created three versions of the .FCM file, the two alternating color files I exported to my machine. One was the whole pattern. The second was a single color. The third was the alternate color. All I had to do was load the one I wanted to draw first. After that was done I pressed the Home button to erase the project file so I could load the second version. I changed the pen colors and without having to unload my mat or re-scan the mat's material I was able to proceed without any alignment issues. But if I understand you correctly you've got all the elements already printed on the HTV or transfer paper. You would want to use the scan to cut data feature on the machine itself. Then try to get it to recognize the desired areas to be cut. Failing that I would use their PC software (Windows./Apple) to handle that. The free version does have its limits though. There is a premium version of this feature that is supposed to offer greater prowess than the free version. I haven't tried it yet. But according to YouTube videos it is a worthy upgrade. You might have to import the image, add your own cut lines in freehand mode, then make some test cuts after exporting it to the machine.
