“I have a mac with no CD rom drive, will I be able to set this printer up with out using the CD?”

• printer is wifi enabled, so If you have wifi, the printer will be discoverable. I was within 10 feet of modem, didn't need the CD and wifi discovered it. Fast easy install

• For those that don't have wifi and also don't have a cd drive on your newer laptop, you can either use an external hard drive or downlowd directly from the Brother website

• Yep! You can download the drivers and all other software you need from Brother's website. http://support.brother.com/g/b/producttop.aspx?c=us&lang=en&prod=mfcj497dw_us_eu
